25/08/10 - Hemel Storm Basketball Club has secured their first name on the roster as former Great Britain Under 20 International Simon “Spud” Kearney has committed to the club for the 2010/11 Season.

6’ 4” small forward Kearney has a great basketball pedigree and has been on teams that have won every domestic national title. He has worked under Storm Director of Coaching Dave Titmuss before, and Titmuss is delighted that they will work together again:

“It’s great that Spud has bought into our vision for the Storm and our determination to gain promotion to Division One. We recognise its a big step for a proven player to join a Division 2 team and we need talented players, but we are just as determined to get motivated, good people involved at the club so that the whole experience can be as positive as possible”.

“We only want to bring good people to be part of the Hemel community that we are seeking to work with. Happily Spud ticks all of the boxes and he will be a great role model for young aspiring players”.

Kearney will captain the Storm in their first season. Further signings are expected shortly.
